Greenwich Police on Late Shift Snag Westchester 25-Year-Old

police stationJoseph Davanzo, 25, of 55 Hoyt Street in South Salem, NY was arrested on Wed., Oct. 15 and charged with Traveling Unreasonably Fast, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, and Unsafe Movement.

The incident took place just before 2:00am when Greenwich Police officers were on patrol in the area of West Putnam Ave. A vehicle traveling west was observed mounting the curb in the area of Old Post Rd #2 and accelerate at a high rate of speed, heading west on West Putnam Ave. According to police, a motor vehicle stop was conducted and further investigation determined that Davanzo had red glassy eyes and the odor of alcohol on his person and breath. The suspect subsequently failed a series of field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest.

Davanzo posted bond in the amount of $250 and was released from custody. He has a date in Stamford Superior Court of Oct. 29, 2014.
